Privacy Policy for Xpense

Xpense is an expense tracking app that helps users log income and expenses, categorize spending, scan receipts, view insights, and export reports. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

Information You Enter in the App

Xpense lets you enter financial tracking information such as expense amounts, income amounts, notes, merchants, categories, dates, monthly budget, currency, and display name. This information is stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system, and we do not upload your expense records to our own server.

Receipt Scanning and Camera Access

If you choose to scan a receipt, Xpense may ask for camera or photo access. The receipt image is used to detect text such as amount, merchant, and date. Receipt scanning is intended to run on your device through Google ML Kit text recognition. Xpense does not sell your receipt images or use them for advertising profiles.

Advertising

Xpense uses Google Mobile Ads, including banner, interstitial, app-open, and native ad formats on Android. Google and its partners may collect or receive information from your device, such as device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics, and app usage signals, in order to provide, limit, measure, and improve ads.

Notifications

Xpense may request notification permission to send reminders about logging expenses, categorizing spending, and maintaining streaks. Notification settings can be changed in your device settings.

Exports and Files

If you export a CSV or PDF report, the file is generated on your device and may be opened or shared using apps installed on your device. Any sharing you choose to do is controlled by you and the receiving app.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal expense records. Xpense may share limited data with third-party services only as needed for app functionality, such as Google Mobile Ads for advertising and Google ML Kit for receipt text recognition.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your expense records are stored locally on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Xpense includes a clear-data option that can remove locally stored expense and income records.

Children's Privacy

Xpense is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.

Security

We use local device storage and reasonable safeguards available through the platform. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
