This Privacy Policy explains how PackMate ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the PackMate Android application.
PackMate is designed as a travel packing and preparation assistant. Your core trip planning data is stored locally on your device. The App does not require an account and does not operate its own cloud database for your trips, checklists, budgets, itineraries, or journal notes.
Information You Provide
You may enter travel planning information into the App, including trip names, destinations, travel dates, packing checklist items, budget items, itinerary notes, shopping notes, and journal entries.
This information is stored on your device using local app storage. We do not collect this information on our own servers.
Advertising And Consent
PackMate uses Google AdMob to display ads, including app open ads, banner ads, interstitial ads, and native ads. Google and its partners may collect and process data such as device identifiers, approximate location, app activity related to ads, diagnostics, and other information to provide, limit, measure, and improve advertising.
Where required, the App may show a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform. Your choices may affect whether ads are personalized or non-personalized. You can review Google's privacy practices here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Notifications
PackMate can send optional local reminders for your trips and preparation tasks. Notification scheduling is handled on your device. On supported Android versions, the App asks for notification permission before sending reminders.
Device Permissions
The App may request or use these Android permissions:
- Internet and network access: used for advertising and consent services.
- Notifications: used for optional trip reminders.
- Vibration: used for notification alerts.
- Receive boot completed: used to restore scheduled local reminders after device restart.

The App uses third-party services that may collect information according to their own privacy policies:

Data Retention And Deletion
Trip planning data entered into PackMate remains on your device until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Because we do not maintain an account system or our own cloud copy of your trip data, uninstalling the App may remove locally stored App data from your device.
Children's Privacy
PackMate is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can review the matter.
Security
We use reasonable design choices to protect your information, including keeping core trip data on your device. However, no app, device, or network service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
