Privacy Policy
Fridge File is designed as an offline-first food inventory app. Your food items, notes, expiry dates, and photos are stored on your device unless a feature described below requires a third-party service.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Fridge File mobile application ("Fridge File", "the app", "we", "our", or "us").
Privacy contact: replace-with-your-support-email@example.com
2. Information You Provide or Store in the App
Fridge File lets you save food inventory information, including:
- Food item names, categories, storage locations, notes, and expiry dates.
- Food item photos you choose to capture or select from your device.
- App settings such as theme, notification preferences, and reminder settings.
- Consumed, wasted, or deleted item history used to show app statistics.
This information is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a user account system or cloud sync server for this app.
3. Permissions Used by the App
- Camera: used only when you choose to take a food item photo.
- Photos or media library: used only when you choose an existing food item photo.
- Notifications: used to send expiry, hydration, and fridge reminder alerts.
- Internet and network state: used to load ads through Google AdMob.
You can deny or revoke permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work without the related permission.
4. Advertising and Third-Party Services
Fridge File is ad-supported and uses Google AdMob to show app open, banner, interstitial, and native ads. Google AdMob may collect or receive information from your device, such as device identifiers, advertising ID, IP address, app interaction data, diagnostics, and ad interaction data, in order to provide, limit, measure, and personalize ads.
Google may process this information according to its own privacy policies and advertising technologies. You can learn more here:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Google AdMob policies and restrictions
You can control ad personalization through your device settings, Google account ad settings, and any consent or privacy prompts shown in the app where required by law.
5. How We Use Information
Information stored in Fridge File is used to:
- Track your food inventory and expiry dates.
- Show reminders and notifications you enable.
- Display usage statistics such as consumed and wasted items.
- Support app functionality, reliability, and ad-supported availability.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your food inventory data. We do not share your locally stored food items, notes, or photos with our own server because the app does not use an account or cloud sync system.
Information may be shared with third parties only in these situations:
- With Google AdMob and related Google services for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and compliance.
- If you contact us for support and choose to share information with us.
- If required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Food inventory data and photos remain on your device until you delete the item, remove the photo, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Notification reminders remain scheduled until they fire, are canceled by the app, or are removed by the operating system.
Because Fridge File does not currently provide user accounts or cloud storage, deleting the app or clearing its local data removes the app data stored on your device. Data processed by Google AdMob is handled according to Google's policies and retention practices.
8. Security
Fridge File stores app data locally using platform storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the app is designed to limit data collection and avoid sending your food inventory to our own servers.
9. Children's Privacy
Fridge File is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Your Choices
- You can delete food items, notes, and photos inside the app.
- You can clear all local app data or uninstall the app from your device settings.
- You can turn notifications, camera access, and photo access on or off in device settings.
- You can manage ad personalization through Android, Google, or regional consent settings where available.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
