Information We Collect
Dish Dash is designed to be local-first. Most meal information you add stays on your device.
- Meal content: meal names, notes, categories, tags, ingredients, cooking steps, cook times, favorites, and meal history.
- Optional images: if you choose a meal photo from your device, the app stores the selected image path for that meal.
- Optional voice notes: if you record a voice note, the recording is stored on your device.
- Notification settings: reminder preferences used to schedule meal reminders.
- AI meal info requests: when you use AI Fill, the meal name you enter is sent to our backend so cooking details can be generated.
- Advertising data: Dish Dash uses Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics, and other data needed to show, measure, and improve ads.
How We Use Information
- To save and display your meal list, meal history, photos, cooking steps, and voice notes.
- To suggest meals and avoid repeating recent suggestions.
- To schedule local meal reminders when enabled.
- To provide AI-assisted meal descriptions, ingredients, and cooking steps when requested.
- To show ads, limit ad frequency, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and keep the app free to use.
- To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the app and backend services.
Local Storage
Meal data, history, reminder settings, image paths, and voice note files are stored locally on your device unless a feature clearly requires network access, such as AI Fill or ads.
Third-Party Services
Dish Dash may use third-party services that process information under their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob: used to show app-open, banner, interstitial, and native ads.
- Backend AI provider: used only when you request AI meal details through the AI Fill feature.
Permissions
- Internet: required for ads, AI Fill, and backend requests.
- Notifications and alarms: used for meal reminders.
- Photos/media: used only when you choose an image for a meal.
- Microphone: used only when you record a voice note.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal meal content. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate app features, including ads, local reminders, AI meal information, security, and infrastructure.
Children
Dish Dash is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
- You can edit or delete meals inside the app.
- You can disable notifications in the app or system settings.
- You can deny microphone or photo permissions and still use core meal suggestions.
- You can reset or limit your advertising ID using your device settings where available.
- You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when a new version is published.
